Who we are

AlarmFriends ("we", "us") is a social alarm clock app that lets you set alarms and wake up together with friends. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the rights you have. AlarmFriends is operated by GGWP ehf., Iceland. For any privacy question, contact support@alarmfriends.app.

Information we collect

Account and profile

Your email address, display name, avatar initials, theme and appearance preferences, and the time you accepted our terms.

Authentication

Sign in is handled by our backend provider, Supabase. If you use Sign in with Apple or Google we receive your name and email. Apple may give you a private relay email, which works fine.

Alarms and wake activity

Your alarms, schedules, wake sessions, snoozes, streaks and achievements.

Social features

Your friends and friend requests, shared alarm crew membership, and the voice or sound suggestions you send or receive.

Voice recordings

If you record audio in the app to use or share as a wake sound, that audio is stored in our secure storage so it can be played back.

Location, only if you use location features

If you create a location based reminder or geofence, we process your device's precise location and any places you save, solely to trigger your own reminders.

Notifications

A device push token so we can deliver your alarm and reminder notifications.

Safety and moderation

Reports and blocks you create.

Technical data

Basic logs and device information used for reliability, security and abuse prevention.

How we use your information

• To provide the app and sync your alarms, friends and streaks across your devices.
• To deliver the alarm and reminder notifications you set.
• To enable social features, waking up with friends, sending voice wake-ups and streaks.
• To keep the service safe, which covers handling reports, blocks and abuse.
• To meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third party advertising or cross app tracking.

Legal bases (GDPR)

We rely on performance of our contract with you when providing the app, your consent for location, microphone and push notifications which you can grant or revoke in iOS Settings, our legitimate interests in security and abuse prevention, and our legal obligations.

Who we share data with

We use trusted processors who handle data on our behalf. Supabase provides the database, authentication and file storage, hosted in the European Union. Apple provides push notification delivery and Sign in with Apple. We may disclose data if required by law.

Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account your personal data is removed from our systems.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and Icelandic data protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, port and object to the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can also lodge a complaint with the Icelandic Data Protection Authority, Persónuvernd.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time in the app under Profile, then Delete account. This permanently removes your account and personal data. You can also email us to request deletion.

Children

AlarmFriends is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will update the date above and notify you in the app of significant changes.
